The Annual General Meeting of the Zambia Society Trust will be held on Saturday 23rd November, at the Zambia High Commission, 2 Palace Gate, London W8 5NG.

The business meeting is at 12.30, followed by a buffet lunch. The afternoon session starts at 14.00, where Mathias Mbewe will describe his recent visits to some of the welfare projects that we support, followed by an illustrated talk by Dr Lawrence Dritsas on the Life and Legacy of David Livingstone.

Lawrence Dritsas is from the University of Edinburgh Centre of African Studies. He gained his PhD with a study of David Livingstone’s Zambezi Expedition, and he has researched and published widely on Livingstone’s legacy in Central Africa, and on his scientific achievements. He is a founding member of the Lembani Trust, a Zambia-based charity that supports educational publishing in Zambia. Recently he has contributed to two television documentaries, The Scots Who Found the Modern World (BBC Scotland) and The Lost Diaries of David Livingstone (National Geographic). He was an advisor for the recent Livingstone exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland, and contributed to the book which accompanied the exhibition “David Livingstone – Man, Myth and Legacy”.
