Tujilijili kills one

A 35-year-old of Kapiri Mposhi District has died after taking 13 sachets of the recently banned Tujilijili, Central Province Police chief Solomon Jere has confirmed.

Police also recovered two boxes containing 200 each of the sachets from the house of the dead man containing sachets with labels of Officer’s Double Punch and Cane Spirit.

Dr Jere identified the man who died on June 5, 2011 at his home as Maxwell Malichima of lwachele area of Nkansu village.

Following the death of the man, the widow was accused of having killed her husband but the misunderstanding was resolved after police intervened.

And Dr Jere has disclosed that some traders were panicking since the ban of the sachets and were offloading the sachets to villagers who were unaware of the ban.

Meanwhile, increased cases of poaching on private land has increased in Chisamba District of Central province. / times of zambia
