Zambia lift COSAFA U20 Tournament trophy
ZAMBIA has lifted the 2011 metropolitan COSAFA U20 Tournament trophy after beating Angola 2-1 at Gaborone’s UB stadium in Botswana.
The Cup final was won by special and individual brilliance, and that’s the summation of the Under-20′s victory in Gaborone after the Keagan Mumba coached side came from a goal down to beat the stubborn Angolan youngsters in what was a nerve wrecking final. With the young Palancas Negras leading, red hot Evans Kangwa scored from a tight angle for his seventh goal which earned him the top scorer award.
The match was heading for post match penalties but again it was another Nkana forward Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba on the scoresheet with his fifth goal of the tournament.
‘Sate Sate’ looped the ball over the Angolan goalkeeper in injury time as the 17 year old’s goal broke the hearts of the tough Angolans.
Kangwa was also named player of the tournament and now join the national team camp on Tuesday with Sate Sate and Bruce Musakanya.
