Zambia: 2 Vehicles valued at K224 Million for DCs
Handing over the two Toyota Hilux vehicles at his office Central Province Permanent Secretary Denny Lumbama said, the vehicles were meant to ease the mobility of two District Commissioners and enable them interact and serve the communities in their areas better.
Mr. Lumbama urged the two District Commissioners, Col. Philip Chabakale of Chibombo and Mwila Kunda of Kapiri Mposhi to guard the donated vehicles jealously, for the benefit of the people in the two districts.
He said a lot of work needed to be done in the districts, adding that the two vehicles were not for personal use, adding that the District Commissioners should often be interacting with traditional chiefs, headmen and all the people in their areas to foster social economic development.
Mr. Lumbama said government would continue supporting all the districts in Central Province.
He said Kabwe and Serenje district Commissioners would be the next to receive new vehicles when the required funds were found.
He said government was implementing numerous development projects in Central Province, which he said needed to be highlighted.
And the two District Commissioners expressed gratitude for two vehicles bought by the Government for their official use.
The District Commissioner for Kapiri Mposhi, Mwila Kunda said the vehicles would be used in motivating the people in the district to work extra hard.
